Faster, Error Free Ticketing at Kings Cross - 2006
In a project led by the Arup acoustic consulting Group, Voice Perfect were asked to develop a digitised suite of VTUs for the new ticket offices in the main and Western ticket halls. Analogue equipment, where the background noise can vary from minute-to-minute, was unsuitable for the station environment, so Voice Perfect developed the digitised Talk-2 VTU.
This means that the “coupling”, or sound levels, on both sides of the glass, and the performance of the associated AFILS hearing aid equipment can be monitored and adjusted as required.
The resulting installation provides an excellent service to customers, makes life easier for the cashiers and blends well into the ticket halls. The number of callouts to equipment faults has also been dramatically reduced.
